Conflict Of Interest Policy

Disclosure and Resolution of Conflict of Interest Policy

AAGL requires everyone in a position to control educational content to disclose in writing relevant financial relationships with commercial interests in accord with ACCME’s Standards for Commercial Support.

The CME Advisory Committee and program chairs for individual CME activities are responsible for identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest relating to faculty and presentations prior to the CME activity.

If a conflict of interest is identified, solutions are presented to the faculty member or presenter to resolve the conflict.  For example, a slide may need to be altered to remove a trade or product name.  A disclosure slide may need to be inserted.  Once the solution is identified, the presentation is corrected prior to presentation.  If a resolution is not possible, the individual in question will be replaced.

Persons refusing to disclose relevant financial relationships are disqualified from any position where they would be able to influence any part of the CME planning process including faculty.

Disclosure information is included in the program, syllabus, presentation slides and on the AAGL Website, aagl.org.
