Mark your calendars and join us for the 5th Annual Meeting on Laparoscopic, Robotic, and Vaginal Hysterectomy, taking place December 5-6, 2013 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. This two-day course is designed for physicians interested in incorporating minimally invasive techniques into their surgical armamentarium and for recent graduates interested in reinforcing their knowledge of MIGS.


The program will establish the key elements necessary to convert almost all of your abdominal hysterectomies to MIGS through proper patient selection and surgical approach, and how to implement them safely and cost-effectively in the operating room. Submit Your Nominations for the 2014 AAGL Board of Trustees – Deadline July 5, 2013

The AAGL Nominating Committee will soon select eight members of the AAGL as candidates for four trustee positions for the years 2014 and 2015. Four of the candidates will be from the general membership, two candidates will be from Pacific Rim/India/Asia, and two from Mexico/Central America/South America.


In addition, two other members will be selected from the general membership to run as candidates for the position of Secretary-Treasurer. This position leads to Vice-Presidency and then the Presidency of the AAGL (proposed candidates must have previously served on the AAGL Board of Trustees).


If you wish to be considered as a candidate for one of these positions, you should ask five AAGL members to submit your name along with a short letter or email of support. Please note that recommendations must be received no later than July 5, 2013.





Announcing AAGL’s 10th International Congress – Barcelona, Spain – June 5-7, 2014

Did you miss the recent 9th AAGL International Congress in Cape Town, South Africa? We are pleased to announce that the 10th AAGL International Congress on MIGS will be held in Barcelona, Spain from June 5-7, 2014. This event will offer attendees many opportunities for the dissemination, discussion and debate of the new medical and scientific information, treatment and care in the field of gynecologic surgery.


The program will incorporate Live Surgery and attendees will have the opportunity to direct questions to the surgeons during the demonstrations. Topics to be covered include robotic surgery, endometriosis, pelvic floor defects, gynecologic cancer, hysterectomy, benign conditions, ovarian pathology, pre- and post-operative women’s care, imaging, energy, hysteroscopy and uterine pathology.
