Welcome to AAGL’s specialty page dedicated to minimally invasive surgeons with a focus on robotics.
The 2018 Goals of this SIG are:
As the only SIG with common interest focused around a platform of surgical tools for managing Gyn surgery:
Goal 1) Continue to build RSIG membership and encourage collaboration around all gyn surgical procedures.
Goal 2) To shorten the learning curve for new surgeons, improve efficiency and proficiency with more complex cases for experienced surgeons
Goal 3) Continue to provide a platform for highly experienced “master” robotic surgeons to demonstrate and educate best practices
Goal 4) Encourage an easy means of communication between surgeons interested in research and publication
Means: The above are accomplishable via surgeon-surgeon invitation to our growing (430 as of today with a 2017 goal of 500) closed social media group, video posting, commentary and discussion using RSIG 2017 highly functional closed Social Media Face Book RSIG Group which is the realization of Dr. Moawad’s 2017 goal in action.
Measurable: In order to determine if this provides actual value, surgeons are encouraged to collect CLINICAL ENDPOINT DATA: simple example e.g. case times and MIS rates stratified for degree of surgeon experience (# cases) and complexity for hysterectomy and myomectomy – which can be on a spectrum of simple data collection to complex, on an agreed on STANDARDIZED data collection form.
