PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:  Utilizing fundamental steps during a laparoscopic hysterectomy, Dr. Brill will present and review how recent innovation in bipolar vessel sealing can enable key ergonomic and technical principles that maximize hemostasis and facilitate dissection.

PATIENT HISTORY: 47 year old married female, G2P2, is seeking treatment options for a large symptomatic fibroid uterus.  Pelvic ultrasound revealed multiple large myomata with an estimated volume of 802cc. After reviewing the various surgical and non-surgical options available, she affirmed her strong interest to undergo laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy.
