AAGL Announces Dr. Linda Bradley Will Be Its New Medical Director
FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT
On behalf of the AAGL Board of Directors, it is with sincere pleasure that I announce the appointment of Linda D. Bradley, M.D. as the new Medical Director of the AAGL.
Over the course of several rounds of judicious review by the Search Committee,
Dr. Bradley’s name consistently rose to the top of a field of very talented candidates. She is a true leader with passion and dedication for the AAGL, she is deeply committed to our mission, and she is eminently qualified to do honor to this important position and our community. She will begin a four-year term on January 1, 2019.
A past President of the AAGL, Dr. Bradley serves on the AAGL Anti-Harassment, Diversity and Incident Reporting taskforce and is a member of the Grievance Committee of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). She is a Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and Vice Chair of the Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health Institute at the Cleveland Clinic. She is also Director of Hysteroscopic Education for the Residency Program at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and was recently appointed Vice Chair for Diversity and Inclusion for the Cleveland Clinic Women’s Health Institute.
Following in the footsteps of our first—and current—Medical Director, the venerated Dr. Franklin D. Loffer,
Dr. Bradley promises to be inclusive, to thrive on intellectual challenges and problem solving, and to be a connector. Her vision is to work selflessly for the organization and with the Board to improve the care of the women we serve by hosting robust annual meetings/seminars, increasing the knowledge of our membership, fostering long-term relationships with other medical societies, garnering industry support, and influencing future governmental policies that affect women.
The AAGL Board would like to extend our profound appreciation to Dr. Loffer for originating the role of Medical Director. He has worked assiduously to formulate our organizational and medical policies and has been an ardent ambassador and inclusive leader throughout his 17-year tenure. While it is bittersweet to see his term come to an end, we are confident that Dr. Bradley is the perfect choice to lead the way forward.
